I started out with a Yamaha DX7 and a MacPlus running a Southworth JamBox and
music software. Eventually this set up became Opcode Vision using their Studio 4 interface.
Now the computer is a Mac Centris 650 - Oh baby! I never got away from the DX7.
I added the Proteus I and II and a few reverbs. Then I got Finale
notation software. That's all I needed to produce a complete package. I
mixed all this through an Alessis 1622. You know the funny mixer with the all
plastic knobs and body. Hey, it works fine. Okay, so I'm cheap. I had/have an
old Teac 4 track system to record the results and add bass and voice. I blew the
whole thing through two Bose 901's setting backwards three feet away
with 100 watts per. It would blow your hair back. Then I
would mix down to cassette. This rig provided just enough for demos to showcase at the local guild meetings. Boy,
was that degrading!
